Medicaid expansion was approved as part of Arizona’s budget and signed into law by Governor Jan Brewer on June 17th.

This law will restore coverage to thousands of childless adults who are eligible for AHCCCS under an Arizona voter mandate that passed in 2000, but was unfunded because of budget challenges. It also includes coverage for childless adults from 100 to 133 percent of the federal poverty level (approximately $11,500 to $15,000 for a single adult).
